PJM Studios / Grow / Google Business Profile
The most valuable free thing you already own.
Your Google Business Profile decides whether you show up on the map when somebody nearby searches for what you sell. Google gives it to you at no cost. Most local businesses have never opened it properly.
What a completed profile looks like
Three spots on the map. Be one of them.
Someone half a kilometre away needs exactly what you sell. They do not type your name, because they have never heard of it. They type the thing they need and the word near. Google answers with a map and three businesses in it.
How good you are at the actual job does not enter into it. Only the profile does.
What’s included
Everything, done once, properly.
Set up badly, this costs you quietly: a category that keeps you out of the searches you want, hours that say open on a holiday Monday when you are closed, two photos, and reviews nobody ever replied to.
Claim and verify
Including the awkward part: postcard or video verification, and recovering a profile a former employee or a previous owner set up and nobody can get into.
Categories and services
Your primary category decides which searches you are eligible to appear in at all. Choosing it badly is the single most common and most expensive mistake on a local profile.
Service areas and hours
Where you actually travel to, what you actually cover, and holiday hours set ahead of time so you stop showing as open when the door is locked.
The profile itself
Description, products or services with prices where it helps, attributes, photos, and a booking or quote link that goes somewhere useful rather than to your homepage.
Reviews
A request link that works on a phone in one tap, wording that people actually use, and replies written for the reviews already sitting there. Including the bad one.
Questions and answers
Seeded with what customers genuinely ask, answered by you. Left empty, that section gets answered by strangers, and sometimes by a competitor.
Handover
Thirty minutes on a call so you can keep it current yourself, plus a one-page written summary of what was changed and why.
How it runs
Four stages, once, then it is yours.
Audit
What is already there, what is missing, and what is quietly costing you.
Claim & fix the basics
Verification, categories, hours and service areas set correctly.
Build it out
Description, photos, products or services, and the Q&A section seeded properly.
Reviews & handover
A request link that works, replies written, and thirty minutes so you can run it yourself.
Google Business Profile setup
Everything above, done once, properly. No retainer attached and nothing to cancel later.
This is the work with the shortest line to the phone ringing, because it puts you in front of people who are already looking for what you sell today.
If your profile is already in decent shape, I will tell you that on the call and you can keep your money.
Track record, not a client list yet
The client list is short. The experience isn’t.
Managing Google Business Profiles is the job it has always been: over thirty years in digital marketing, including a stretch keeping local listings accurate across hundreds of Shred-it and Stericycle locations in Canada, the US and the UK, plus real, live examples closer to home.

Questions people ask first
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. This is a one-time fee and there is nothing after it. No retainer, nothing to cancel.
Can you recover a profile I do not have access to?
Usually, yes, including the awkward version where a former employee or a previous owner set it up and nobody can get in anymore. That recovery work is part of the fixed price, not an extra.
Will this actually bring me customers?
This is the work with the shortest line to the phone ringing, because it puts you in front of people who are already searching for what you sell, today. That is different from advertising, which has to go and find them first.
What if my profile is already in decent shape?
Then I will tell you that on the call and you can keep your money. Plenty of profiles just need one or two things fixed, not a full rebuild, and I will say which is true of yours before you pay for anything.
